It’s that time of year to say “buh-bye!” to winter and “hey there!” to the warmer, sunny days of spring! The kids have been cooped up in the house more often for the past few months, and it’s time to get them out for some fun activities in the community. Here are five Charlotte springtime activities for the kiddos:
THE CHARLOTTE SPRING FAIR

Kick off spring in a big way by going to the Charlotte Spring Fair, open March 13-29 at Charlotte Motor Speedway! Charlotte’s 11th Annual Spring Fair is fun for all ages, featuring incredible shows, thrilling fair rides from Dreamland Amusements, the Rockin’ A Ranch Petting Zoo, tasty fair food, and more.
Bring the kids out for Wild Child Wednesdays at the Charlotte Fair (March 18 and 25) for FREE admission for children 11 and under. Unlimited Ride Wristbands (allowing unlimited access to incredible rides like the Super Cyclone Roller Coaster, Giant Wheel, Delusion and Dream Catcher) are also just $20 – or $15 with a Charlotte Fair Handbill.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY FESTIVALS

The Charlotte area is home to many family-friendly festivals all year long.
Celebrate the beginning of spring by taking your kids to the annual Come-See-Me Festival in Rock Hill. This ten-day festival beginning April 16 features more than 80 events, including a barbecue cookout, teddy bear tea party, and fireworks show.
This can’t-miss event has ranked as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Spring Festivals for more than a decade. Definitely add it to your calendar this spring!
PERFORMING ARTS

The arts and culture scene in Charlotte is booming with concerts and performances for all ages!
This spring, there are a variety of kid-friendly shows that are sure to inspire and entertain. Marvel at the amazing costumes and beautiful choreography in Sleeping Beauty at the Charlotte Ballet; enjoy your favorite furry monsters at Sesame Street Live!; or experience Dragons Love Tacos at the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte.

FUN ON THE FARM

There are so many farms in the Charlotte area where families can pick fresh produce together.
Spring is strawberry season, which is the perfect time to pick some sweet treats with your little ones! Not only will you have fun seeking out the perfect fruit, you can enjoy a delicious healthy snack together after a day in the sunshine.

RAINY-DAY ESCAPES

While spring brings warmer weather and sunshine, it can also bring some rainy days. Luckily, Charlotte has countless indoor activities to keep your kids active and engaged during springtime showers.
Let your little rider take part in the race simulator at NASCAR Hall of Fame, or give your budding scientist the chance to uncover something new at Discovery Place. They’ll be so excited to be out of the house, and you’ll be thankful for all they can learn and explore all throughout their community.
